I've been a licensed therapist for 12 years and employ a variety of evidence-based practices and modalities to help you meet your goals, including DBT, CBT, IFS, psychodynamic, narrative, creative arts, and humanistic therapies. I'm especially drawn to and skilled in working with folk in transition, whether this relates to your age (preteen to adult), relationship status, identity exploration, or shifting life circumstances.
I work collaboratively with my clients and would describe my style as warm, thoughtful, creative, transparent, and empowering. I meet each person where they're at and respect the resistance that often accompanies change. Together we'll figure out what hasn't worked and why and try new ways of creating the life you want. While I tailor the work towards each individual, I enjoy introducing creative interventions beyond typical "talk therapy" including art, role play, writing and apps.
I believe that expression, creativity, culture and humor are vital in the work of exploring and expanding one's self. With a background in creative arts therapy, I strongly believe that play in its many forms is healing.
